Marufa A. Chowdhury (b. 1977) is a visual artist based in Dhaka Bangladesh. She received MFA (2006) and BFA (2004) in Ceramics from Visva Bharati University located in Santiniketin, West Bengal, India.
As a Bengali she is a part of a culture that places profound importance on artistic expression and on pioneering new ways of seeing and representing human experience.
Marufa’s current life as an artist in Dhaka reflects her determination to keep ripe within the fruits of her experience in India, and to continue to mold new artistic expressions that reflect her own journey, the land and all its people.
